Coaching Corps Bay Area VISTA Leader
 
 
 
The Coaching Corps VISTA Leader will train and support a high performance team of 10 AmeriCorps* VISTA members serving throughout California. Coaching Corps has embarked on an expansion plan to reach 500,000 kids across the nation who are most in need of opportunities to reap the benefits of sports participation. As a VISTA Leader you will be able to join our team at this exciting time in an effort to reach more kids in low-income communities. Requirements: -Must have completed one full year of AmeriCorps VISTA. -Bachelors Degree minimum. -Prior experience managing volunteers is preferred. -Seeking a candidate interested in pursuing a career related to volunteer management, program management, human resources, or leading high performance teams. -Experience operating Microsoft Office Suite and file-sharing software such as Dropbox. -Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills are required. Ideal Candidate: Candidate should be highly motivated and forward thinking. He or she should be able to communicate effectively with a supervisor and with co-workers. He or she should be comfortable with conflict management, managing up, leading large group discussions and facilitating meetings. Candidate should classify themselves as a team player and they should be motivated by national service and a chance to give back to the community. Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will serve the team from the Coaching Corps office in Oakland by 1.) Leading a team of volunteers by playing the roles of an ambassador, mentor and coach 2.) Developing and strengthening VISTA member training material and curriculum 3.) Identifying and pursuing resources for program sustainability. In addition, you will serve as the Bay Area Regional Leader, which will give you experience serving the larger Bay Area network of VISTA members. In this role you will work with VISTA Leaders to organize Days of Service, regional quarterly meetings and regular E-Blasts. Coaching Corps greatly values the role of the Leader position, and looks for candidates that embody the spirit of volunteerism.
