Community Servings Infographic Developer

Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. We give our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through free, culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs. As we celebrate 22 years in operation this year, we have served over 4.6 million free meals to the critically ill since 1990, helping those from Boston's most disenfranchised communities fight hunger and illness. This year we will serve more than 380,000 meals to 1,300 people affected by a life-threatening illness. With our new state-of-the-art nutrition facility we have been able to significantly increase meal capacity to now serve 775 people each day, improve food quality, engage greater numbers of volunteers, expand nutrition services including on-site nutrition classes, develop complimentary programs such as food-service job-training and diversify our funding revenues through a social enterprise program.

Member Duties : The Summer Associate will work with the Development Department to research, define and create info-graphics that illustrate the need for, and impact of, our programs in such a way that it moves people to action as donors, volunteers or community partners. Examples of possible info-graphics include visuals that articulate the impact of Community Servings' nutrition care for the critically ill, impact of community partnerships in expanding our geographical reach through our train-the-trainer nutrition education program for at-risk populations, impact of Community Servings' Teaching Kitchen on low-income trainees with barriers to employment, among others. These info-graphics would be used, through social media, printed materials and the web, to enable us to better showcase Community Servings' work and impact, broadening our reach among donors, volunteers and community partners.
