OASHF- Wesley Community Services

Wesley Community Services is a non-profit agency providing services to low income seniors and individuals with disabilities allowing them to stay in their home as long as possible. Our services in 2011included a home delivered Meals-On-Wheels program that delivered 255,000 meals, and 38,000 specialized medical and work site transportation trips and 25,000 hours of in home care services. In addition Wesley Community Services sponsors an interdenominational WesleyLinks network of 65 area churches to provide information addressing senior services. Furthermore, Wesley Community Services established a Pet Food and Pet Care program for clients who have a dog or cat.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will recruit, screen and train new and current volunteers, act as a liaison at community events where prospective volunteers will be present, and maintain a volunteer database. The VISTA member will serve as a point of contact for the WesleyLinks program and attend, prepare agenda, and participate at WesleyLinks meetings. The VISTA member will promote all new in initiatives, and the Pet Food and Pet Care programs.
