AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps - Winter 2013

FEMA Corps, part of the AmeriCorps NCCC program, is a full-time, team-based residential program for people ages 18-24. Members are assigned to regional campuses, located in Perry Point, MD; Vinton, IA; Vicksburg, MS; Denver, CO; and Sacramento, CA. The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. Like our traditional program, FEMA Corps requires a 10-month commitment of its members, who serve on teams of 8-12 people. Teams are assigned to disaster related service projects with FEMA throughout the region of their campus and can expect to complete between 4-6 projects during their term of service. FEMA Corps members will be devoted solely to FEMA disaster response and recovery efforts. Structured like our traditional program, the FEMA Corps will provide support in areas ranging from working directly with disaster survivors to supporting disaster recovery centers to sharing valuable disaster response and mitigation information with the public. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as selection is continuous and the class may fill before the application deadline.
