OASHF Summer Associate - Lindenwald UMC
 
 
 
The Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks is Ohio's largest charitable response to hunger, supporting 12 member foodbanks and over 3,000 charities to fight poverty and connect low-income families to needed resources. Summer VISTA Associates will be placed at Summer Food Service Program sites across the state to plan menus and curriculum, conduct outreach, recruit volunteers and teach kids about healthy nutrition.

Member Duties : VISTA members assist with transporting and overseeing the meal distribution food to the Freedom School sites in the community. The Freedom Schools will be serving several very low-income groups in Hamilton, Middletown and Cincinnati. The VISTA will record daily meal counts from the schools. Reports to the Director of Summer Food Services.The VISTA will start a working relationship with the community, that we will be able to carry over after the Summer Food program has been concluded.
