EDC - Fresno Community Development Financial Institution

Fresno CDFI provides financing, training, and asset development services for low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs. Since our inception in 2008, our professional, seasoned, and multi-lingual staff – experienced in micro-finance, credit counseling, business plan development, and advocacy for low-income families – has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs realize their dreams. Goal 1: The first goal of this VISTA project will be to develop and implement an entrepreneur credit building program that will be administered through Fresno CDFI. The VISTA will use existing and new relationships with community partners in order to market the program and outreach to entrepreneurs throughout Fresno County. This program will enhance the credit worthiness and financial understanding of the underserved business population. Goal 2: The second goal will be to complete an expansion plan for the proposed Fresno Community Development Credit Union. The VISTA will work with the CEO in order to determine the business plan, marketing plan, and strategic goals for a second branch of the credit union. This analysis will enhance the accessibility of sound financial products for the underserved population as well as serve to spur increased credit union membership.
