First 5 Placer County Office of Education
 
 
 
The VISTAs supervised and hosted at Placer County Office of Education (PCOE) will work with First 5 Placer, PCOE, the Placer Collaborative Network (PCN) and Placer County to: develop and maintain a resource data system for families and those who serve them; identify resource gaps; create linkages between consumers and resources; raise awareness of community resources to parents and providers; identify a lead agency to “own” the project; assist with fund and volunteer development. Key features of the project include: collaboration; networking; fund development; volunteer coordination; community outreach; development of materials; participation in and coordination of community meetings; collection and organization of local data; promotion of new partnerships; enhancing the communication between existing partnerships; and local collaboration. Assist in developing a network/referral system or infrastructure to help families and their children to access resources and enroll in health insurance programs; and support the fund development of agencies serving families 0-5.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will focus on sustainability of the Network of Care (NOC) project by working with local partners to indentify an agency to “own” the NOC project. Once an agency is found, the VISTA member will focus on the following tasks: developing MOUs and roles & responsibilities of partner agencies; work on a fund development plan in support of agencies serving families 0-5; developing curriculum for training volunteers; and volunteer recruitment.
