Harvest Against Hunger Capacity VISTA Seattle

The overall goal of this position is to continue the efforts of Northwest Harvest’s Growing Connections program across the state. The Capacity VISTA will identify, design, develop and evaluate initiatives within this program. Critical activities will include project evaluation, education and public awareness, assisting with a NWH capacity grant fund, and rolling out an online portal to better connect growers and food banks. The Growing Connections program seeks to engage the Hunger Response Network and broader community in Fresh-to- Food Bank (F2FB) activities through community development, education, and networking. As a project of Rotary First Harvest, the Harvest Against Hunger gleaning program creates a much needed way to enlist small to medium-sized farm operations in existing hunger relief efforts in local communities throughout Washington. For 30 years, RFH has focused on connecting and collaborating between different groups (farmers, truckers, food banks and others) to gather food that would otherwise go to waste.
