Elementary School Group Leader
 
 
 
A Girls Inc. AmeriCorps Group Leader is professional, creative, flexible, fun, able to teach a diverse array of concepts from literacy to conflict resolution, and able to communicate with both children and adults. WOW! Group Leader (6 members): Deliver an intentional afterschool youth development program to increase the familial engagement, physical fitness, life skills, self-esteem, and academic success of fourth and fifth grade girls. Provide sports, health, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), and general academic enrichment and support. In addition to after-school programming, provide 1:1 and small group assistance to high-need students during the school day. Super Stars Group Leader (9 members): Deliver a dynamic and structured after-school literacy program for Kindergarten to 2nd grade co-ed groups to build social-emotional skills and enable them to achieve grade level in reading. In addition to after-school programming, provide 1:1 and small group assistance to high-need students during the school day. Brothers on the Rise Group Leader (3 members): Empower male youth to achieve individual success, develop healthy relationships and contribute to a more just and equitable society. Deliver a dynamic and structured after-school literacy program for Kindergarten to 5th grade groups to build social-emotional skills and enable them to achieve grade level in reading. In addition to after-school programming, provide 1:1 and small group assistance to high-need students during the school day. GIRLStart Group Leader (12 members): Deliver a dynamic and structured after-school literacy program for Kindergarten to 3rd grade girls to build the girls' self-esteem and enable them to achieve grade level in reading. In addition to after-school programming, provide 1:1 and small group assistance to high-need students during the school day.

Member Duties : Lead daily literacy/self-esteem/enrichment programming for 15-20 students Provide 1:1 and small group academic assistance to high-need youth during the school day Deliver curriculum on a daily basis Develop creative and engaging lesson plans Create a safe, respectful, and Youth Development-based learning environment Manage participants' behavior using a variety of techniques including positive reinforcement, modeling, conflict resolution, and family involvement Participate in evening/weekend events with participants and their families Build one on one relationships with youth and their families Work with Program Manager and Manager of Volunteers to recruit and supervise volunteers Participate in mandatory weekly staff development, consultation, training, and team meetings
