Environmental Corps - Local Crew Leader

A crew leader position with Environmental Corps is an exciting National Service opportunity for members, ages 21-28. It is a full-time, 1700 hour term of service, in which members help restore and preserve the public lands of Texas. At American YouthWorks in Austin, TX, young people from across the country and various walks of life share one common goal: bettering themselves and their community. Through the hard work of its members, the Environmental Corps has received numerous awards, including the Point of Light Foundation Presidential Service Award, Renew America Certificate of Environmental Achievement, and Clean Texas 2000 Environmental Excellence Award. Our trail-building and habitat restoration projects require members to do physically demanding service in all types of weather. Crews are based out of our Austin facility, generally on an 8-5 M-F schedule, but will be required to participate in out of town trips of up to two weeks in duration in which members will be completing projects during the day and living in a group camp in the evenings. Crew Leaders receive a living stipend, an educational award, and health insurance. A term as a crew leader with American Youthworks Environmental Corps is both a challenging and rewarding experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.
