Early Learning Think Together

The Mission of THINK Together is to provide high quality academically oriented out-of-school programs for students regardless of race, creed, or socioeconomic status. AmeriCorps Early Literacy and Math Instructor shall serve as the primary contact for children ages 0-5. The member will provide direct service education and outreach strategies to promote optimal child development and early learning strategies. The member will work with children and families in a preschool center base environment 4 – 5 days per week modeling early learning activities. Think Together is an extended service provider that works primarily in schools to support children and families. Although research has demonstrated the positive effects of early learning for children, not all children have the opportunity to attend preschool before attending kindergarten. However, parents and caretakers can teach a child effectively at home. Think Together’s Orange County Region enrolls children ages 0-5 years old to participate in center base programs located in Buena Park, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Laguna Hills, and Huntington Beach. Our programs aim at providing parents with the necessary skills to be their child’s first teacher. The program calls for children and their parents to come to a center base site twice a week. Over time the parent learns how to initiate and sustain early learning activities that offer language interaction, school readiness skills and social emotional development for their child.
