CEDO Burlington School District Curriculum Specialist

The BSD is home to about 25% students of color and multiracial students, and there are more than 50 languages and dialects spoken. More than 60 countries are represented among our racially/ethnically diverse students. Half of the approximately 3600 BSD students are in low/moderate income family situations (80% of median income). This AmeriCorps project strengthens the cultural competency and diversity of the Burlington School District's 900+ person workforce. In concert with the Diversity & Equity Office and other BSD units and community agencies in the Burlington and Chittenden County area, the Office of K-12 Curriculum will be central to building organizational capacity in the development and implementation of curriculum resources aligned with federal, state, and district standards with an additional lens of cultural diversity. A key component of the project will be to provide alignment between the work of the Curriculum Office and the work of the Diversity & Equity Office. More information about the K-12 Curriculum Office can be found at http://www.bsdvt.org/curriculum.
