6 Month UCA SOESD Indian Education Volunteer Coordinator

Serving communities in and around Medford, OR at the Southern Educational Service District (SOESD), the Indian Education Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training and supporting the volunteer base for the Indian Education programs serving children, youth, and families. The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit SOU Native American Student Union members as guides for middle and high school youth. In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will connect middle and high school youth with agencies where they can engage in meaningful and culturally relevant volunteer work that will serve as their community service hours both for school requirements and college applications. United Communities AmeriCorps (UCA) engages members in meaningful service to meet critical needs in SW Oregon. UCA projects improve access to community programs in project focus areas of Education, Economic Opportunity, Healthy Futures, and Environmental Stewardship. Members engage clients in their dedicated service project, and then use their experience to recruit, retain, and support community volunteers. Members serve full-time for 6 months, totaling 900 hours for the term of service. Our positions have benefits (education award, monthly stipend, training opportunities, etc). For more information and position descriptions, visit: www.ucamericorps.org. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis as qualified candidates are identified. Selection may be made prior to the application deadline. Early application is strongly encouraged.
