Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program Faith Based
 
 
 
The Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program is recruiting for an assignment that will begin in Phoenix from November 2014 through November 2015. During this time, the VISTA member will develop relationships with faith based community partners to help welcome refugees into Arizona. The VISTA member will help faith organizations understand the ways they may provide meaningful assistance to refugees. The VISTA member will also work to develop pathways the faith organizations may learn more about refugees and connect to resettlement agencies and ethnic community based organizations. Because of the high travel needs for this assignment, it is recommended that the selected candidate own a car. Mileage incurred during work hours of the assignment will be reimbursed. This assignment will be best served by a candidate who has excellent community outreach techniques, strong written and verbal communications skills, program development experience, an intercultural awareness and an interest in developing solutions that will benefit refugees as they resettle into their new country. Member Duties : The Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program is recruiting for an assignment that will be held in Phoenix from November 2014 - November 2015. The VISTA member will bring creative solutions and collaborative strategies to the underserved population of recently arrived refugees in Arizona. The selected candidate will develop a network of faith-based community support for refugees that are directly related to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) funded programs that provide social services and adjustment assistance for newly arrived refugees. ORR programs support employability services and other services that address barriers to employment such as: social adjustment, Interpretation and translation, day care for children, Citizenship and naturalization. Recently arrived refugees will receive service priority with this VISTA assignment. Please apply if you are interested in making a difference in the lives of Arizona's refugees.
