Data Strategy & New Analytics VISTA

Step Up's VISTA project is organized around three strategic pillars: Resource Innovation, Scalable Reach, and Brand Prominence. Each pillar addresses a specific organizational barrier limiting Step Up's ability to reach low-income girls and young women at scale: insufficient fundraising infrastructure, insufficient community infrastructure to enter new markets, and insufficient visibility to ensure young people in those markets know Step Up exists. The project will seek to build the organizational capacity, community infrastructure, and fundraising systems needed to expand Step Up's programming into new markets, develop a partnership model for young women and teen girls, schools and districts and elevate Step Up's national visibility to ensure young people in low-income communities across the country can access the mentorship and career readiness resources they need to move out of poverty and into economic self-sufficiency.

Member Duties : Complete a peer organization benchmarking study — researching how similar organizations (iMentor, Girls Inc., Year Up, College Possible) use data to demonstrate impact, drive program decisions, and make the case to funders and policymakers; Identify new analytics opportunities — specific data angles the organization hasn't yet explored. Identify these opportunities, design the analytical approach, and produce pilot analyses that demonstrate their value; Create an external data integration strategy —identifying publicly available data sets that can contextualize Step Up's impact data and strengthen the economic mobility argument. Connect Step Up's outcomes to external context, making the impact case more compelling
