Restoration Diversion Services Specialist VISTA

Restoration Diversion Services (RDS) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in Compton, California, serving low-income and economically disadvantaged survivors and individuals at risk of human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, homelessness, and related trauma. RDS operates a trauma-informed Drop-In Center providing supportive services, including case management, emergency resources, life skills training, employment and educational support, financial literacy, diversion workshops, survivor-led mentoring, and connections to mental health and community resources. The individuals and families served by RDS often experience economic barriers that increase vulnerability to exploitation and make long-term stability difficult, including housing instability, unemployment or underemployment, limited income, financial insecurity, transportation barriers, limited access to education and workforce opportunities, and difficulty accessing supportive services and community resources. The VISTA will strengthen RDS's capacity to address these barriers by developing sustainable systems for volunteer engagement, community partnerships, resource development, outreach, communications, data collection, program evaluation, and organizational infrastructure. The VISTA will create tools, procedures, tracking systems, outreach materials, and other resources that RDS staff can maintain after the service year. Through this capacity-building work, the VISTA will help RDS expand its network of community partners and volunteers, identify resources and funding opportunities, improve its ability to measure and communicate program impact, and strengthen outreach to low-income individuals who may benefit from services. The VISTA's work will support RDS's long-term ability to connect vulnerable populations with resources and opportunities that promote housing stability, economic security, education, employment, independence, and freedom from exploitation.
