2026 Home Repair VISTA - Racine

The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our AmeriCorps VISTA members help organizations in bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Habitat for Humanity of Racine & Kenosha Counties is the result of the merging of two separate affiliates originally started in 1988. Member Duties : As the Home Repair VISTA, you will work with staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders to create a home repair program for Racine and Kenosha Counties, enabling the organization to serve more families. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Research home repair needs in the area and connect with other Habitat affiliates to learn best practices. RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: Determine program needs – funds, volunteers, etc and develop and implement a plan to meet those needs. COMMUNITY OUTREACH & COMMUNICATION: Develop a plan to connect with homeowners in need of repair services as well as build support for the program. BENEFITS INCLUDE: 30-hour work week and a hybrid schedule. Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit an application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Selection may be made before deadline date posted.
