2026 Communications and Social Media Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
Unemployment and underemployment are among the most direct drivers of poverty. CareerCatchers exists to interrupt that cycle for Montgomery County, MD residents who face the greatest structural barriers to economic stability. Despite consistent program outcomes and a growing client base, the organization currently lacks dedicated communications capacity to document and share its impact, attract new funding and employer partners, or build community awareness of available services. This communications gap limits organizational reach and, by extension, limits the number of people CareerCatchers can serve across the county. The Communications and Social Media Coordinator VISTA will build the infrastructure needed to strengthen CareerCatchers' public presence, increase funder and partner engagement, and ensure that the stories of clients moving out of poverty are documented and shared in ways that sustain organizational growth and long-term anti-poverty impact.

Member Duties : The Communications and Social Media Coordinator will support CareerCatchers' external communications strategy and digital presence across social media, web, and print platforms. This is a VISTA role suited to a communications professional, graduate student, or recent graduate seeking to apply skills in service of a mission-driven organization serving Montgomery County residents. The VISTA member will work collaboratively with program and development staff to strengthen organizational visibility, document client impact, and build communications resources that support long-term sustainability.
