Kerr Together Community Engagement VISTA

Kerr Together is the community-designated Long-Term Recovery Group established following the July 2025 floods. The organization coordinates housing, business recovery, infrastructure restoration, volunteer management, and resource alignment across municipal, nonprofit, and private-sector partners. Services include case management support, building materials distribution, grant administration assistance, infrastructure match coordination, and strategic planning for long-term resilience. Kerr Together serves as a centralized recovery hub, ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficient deployment of public and philanthropic funds while strengthening local capacity to prepare for and respond to future disasters. The July 2025 floods caused widespread damage across Kerr County, disrupting housing, damaging public infrastructure, and threatening the survival of small and historic businesses that anchor the local economy. Homes and rental units were lost or significantly damaged, reducing already limited housing inventory and displacing families and essential workers. Parks, drainage corridors, streets, and downtown areas in Center Point, Ingram, and Hunt sustained major damage, limiting community gathering space, tourism activity, and small business revenue. Kerr Together anticipates directly serving 200 low-income and uninsured/underinsured households that will benefit from building materials assistance and housing planning, reducing out-of-pocket rebuilding costs and accelerating safe return home.
