Economic Empowerment VISTA

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations, at work in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. A force for humanity, IRC employees deliver lasting impact by restoring safety, dignity and hope to millions. Nationally, the IRC provides resettlement services to newly arrived refugees and other eligible populations including basic case management such as public benefits navigation and housing support, healthcare navigation, youth school enrollment, adult education, and employment placement. The IRC in Denver’s Economic Empowerment programs support refugees in achieving financial stability and self-sufficiency through employment services, comprehensive case management, financial education, credit building tools, and food access services, job skills development, and the development of skills that support basic needs access and systems navigation. The program helps clients overcome barriers to employment and gain essential skills for long-term success in the U.S. The Economic Empowerment VISTA will make meaningful contributions to IRC Denver’s programs, advancing our work supporting both near and long-term outcomes of stabilization, poverty reduction, and community integration for refugees and asylees. The best candidates have an openness to working with people from varied backgrounds, can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment among dedicated professionals and have a proficiency with Microsoft Office. Hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.
