18 Reasons Development Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
The Communications & Events Coordinator is a hands-on and solution-oriented person who works on the Development & Communications team supporting aspects of fundraising and donor engagement, marketing and communications, and department operations. You are passionate about food, effective communication, and bringing people together, and you love working independently to solve problems. We take special care to create a working team of positive, flexible, and driven people who are committed to service. A year of service at 18 Reasons is an opportunity to learn new skills and play a valuable role in serving the community. You do not need to have a fundraising, communications, marketing or nonprofit background to succeed in this position, but you must possess critical thinking skills, be a sharp writer, detail oriented, organized, motivated, and eager to learn. In a nutshell, you will: Help keep the development and communications team organized Write words that inspire the community to contribute to our mission Create social media and newsletters

Member Duties : Communications & Marketing: Develop social media templates, content calendar, engagement guidelines, and metrics tracking tools for staff; create branded graphic/video templates via Canva; build a storytelling framework, story collection protocol, and consent process; design newsletter templates, writing guides, and production process; build photo/video/testimonial library structure; create communications metrics tracking (email, web, social) and calendar template. Events & Community Engagement: Develop outreach materials, talking points, and partner engagement tools; create event planning checklists, registration workflows, volunteer role descriptions, and logistics guides; develop donor stewardship templates, fundraising calendar tools, and donor communication drafts; build storytelling protocol, shot list, and story bank structure for staff/volunteer use.
