Campus Corps: Civic Engagement Coordinator at MCC

Miles Community College prepares students for success and provides opportunities for lifelong learning through equitable access, quality programs, community outreach, and partnerships. Miles Community College cares deeply about their community. After all, Community is their middle name and they intend to honor that. Miles City, Custer County, and Southeastern Montana is their home and they are proud to be your Community College. The MCNCE AmeriCorps Member supports Miles Community College's commitment to student success, civic responsibility, and community engagement by developing programs and services that connect students to meaningful volunteer opportunities, address food insecurity and basic needs challenges, and strengthen partnerships between the college and the community. Through outreach, education, service initiatives, and resource coordination, the Member works to create a culture of engagement, support, and belonging that promotes student wellbeing and success both inside and outside the classroom. This work is carried out through five key objectives: expanding student civic engagement and community involvement; strengthening volunteer recruitment and community partnerships; enhancing food security through Pioneer Pantry coordination; increasing awareness of basic needs resources and support services; and assessing needs to measure program impact. Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.
