BCHD - VISTA Volunteer Engagement Specialist

Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is a public agency focused on preventive public health serving the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach. BCHD offers a wide range of health and wellness programs, partnerships, and services that support community wellbeing across the lifespan, with a focus on prevention, connection, and improving quality of life. The VISTA Volunteer Engagement Specialist will serve with BCHD's Volunteer Services team to strengthen volunteer engagement systems, community outreach efforts, and organizational capacity that support BCHD programs and initiatives. The VISTA member will focus on projects related to volunteer program evaluation, volunteer engagement strategies, outreach development, corporate and community partnerships, sponsorship and donor engagement strategies, and long term sustainability efforts. The member will develop volunteer resources, outreach materials, engagement tools, tracking systems, and program recommendations that enhance BCHD's ability to engage volunteers and community partners in meaningful service opportunities. The role will also support efforts to expand corporate volunteer engagement, strengthen community partnerships, and improve systems that contribute to long term volunteer program sustainability and community impact. This position is ideal for someone interested in public health, nonprofit operations, volunteer engagement, community outreach, and capacity building within a community focused organization.

Member Duties : The VISTA Volunteer Engagement Specialist will focus on projects that strengthen volunteer engagement systems, community outreach efforts, and organizational capacity across BCHD programs and initiatives. The member will evaluate volunteer programs and processes, developing volunteer and outreach resources, analyze engagement data, and identify opportunities to improve volunteer recruitment, retention, and program sustainability. The member will also focus on efforts related to corporate volunteer engagement, community partnerships, sponsorship and donor engagement strategies, and the development of tools and systems that expand community involvement and strengthen long term volunteer infrastructure.
