2026 Habitat Home Repairs & Green Team VISTA--Rhinelander WI

The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our AmeriCorps VISTA members help organizations in bring individuals & communities out of poverty. | Habitat for Humanity envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live, building homes, communities, and hope. Habitat for Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin was founded in 1996 and finished its first Habitat home in 1998. Since that time, they have built 29 homes in Oneida and Vilas counties. Like all Habitat for Humanity affiliates, they rely on donations and volunteer help to fulfill their mission. In addition, they have a successful Habitat Restore in Rhinelander which helps fund their construction projects. Member Duties : You’ll develop a Home Repairs Program for Habitat for Humanity of Northwoods Wisconsin and launch the new Green Team program, a partnership with local Master Gardeners to help Habitat homeowners with landscaping around their new homes. HOME REPAIRS: create processes and procedures for the program from start to finish. GREEN TEAM: plan events and activities to assist with landscaping around Habitat houses. Solicit donations of a tree or shrub for each home. COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Leverage the new programs to help increase awareness of Habitat’s work in northern Wisconsin. BENEFITS include a 30-hour work week. Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit an application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Selection may be made before deadline date posted.
