Stewards VISTA:First State National Historical Park Y1

First State National Historical Park and Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park are units of the National Park Service, dedicated to preserving and sharing the nation’s natural and cultural heritage for public education and inspiration. Together, these parks play a key role in interpreting early American history and the ongoing struggle for civil rights, while partnering with local organizations to expand access to education and community engagement. Located across Delaware, this project includes collaboration with newly affiliated historic sites such as Howard High School, Claymont Community Center, and Hockessin Colored School No. 107C. These sites highlight Delaware’s critical contributions to civil rights history while offering access to vibrant communities, historic towns, and regional cultural resources. Members will serve across multiple sites and partner organizations, developing interpretive and educational programs. This role builds skills in program development, volunteer coordination and historical interpretation. We seek organized, adaptable candidates with strong communication skills and an interest in history, education, and public service. Project dates: September 2026 – September 2027. For more information, contact Stewards Individual Placements. For those relocating, Delaware offers a welcoming community-focused environment with easy access to major East Coast cities and a rich historical landscape. "Must be 18-30 years of age, maximum 35 for Veterans with DD-214"
