Campus Corps:Food Pantry and Student Engagement Coordinator

Montana State University is a public land-grant research university in Bozeman, Montana, and as the state's largest university, MSU integrates education, creation of knowledge and art, and service to communities. Members will serve at the Bounty of the Bridgers Campus Food Pantry, founded as a student-led initiative in 2017 that provides supplemental and emergency food assistance to students at no cost, and at the Office of Student Engagement, which works to provide transformative engagement opportunities that challenge, support, and empower every student to thrive at MSU and beyond The goal of this project is to bolster and expand programming surrounding food access and wellness, service learning, and student involvement. The project aims to increase community connection and student persistence by supporting on-campus food security initiatives and enhancing student involvement programming. Through coordination of food pantry operations, student programming, and service-learning collaborations, the AmeriCorps member will strengthen MSU's ability to address food insecurity and foster a sense of belonging among students. Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.
