The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our AmeriCorps VISTA members help organizations in bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Since 1993, Habitat for Humanity Lakeside has been providing the Sheboygan County community with affordable housing opportunities. They operate on a sustainable and community-driven funding model that blends philanthropy, volunteer labor, and affordable homeownership to create long-term housing solutions. Known as “The Spirit on the Lake”, Sheboygan is also the surfing capital of Lake Michigan! Sheboygan is conveniently situated an hour north of Milwaukee and an hour south of Green Bay and not too far from Harrington Beach State Park and Kohler-Andrew State Park, where you can walk on the floating boardwalk over the sand dunes.

Member Duties : Your goal is to increase HFH Lakeside’s capacity to build and repair homes, as envisioned in their five-year strategic plan. 1) VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT: recruit volunteers and strengthen their volunteer program, researching and applying best practices to address the changing volunteer landscape. 2) GRANTS: Research and apply to grants to support the expansion of Habitat’s work. 3) DONOR STEWARDSHIP: Create a plan to increase the number of donors and donations to fund the building and repairing of more homes. BENEFITS include FREE HOUSING (a furnished apartment) and a 30-hour work week. **Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit an application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Selection may be made before deadline date posted.**
