MCNCE VISTA- Student Success and Resource Coordinator

The Dixon School District, located in the town of Scilíp (formerly Dixon), is situated near the scenic confluence of the Flathead and Jocko Rivers by the CSKT Bison Range, is committed to a mission of providing a safe and transformative learning environment that prepares students to become productive, independent members of society. By leveraging a deep-rooted partnership with Salish Kootenai College (SKC), this project seeks to enhance the district’s capacity to serve its community through the strategic acquisition of grants dedicated to academic excellence, essential resources, and impactful community outreach. These initiatives are designed to dismantle the barriers of poverty by equipping students with the academic and creative thinking skills necessary for lifelong success, all while fostering a personal foundation built upon the Bison Be’s: being ready, responsible, respectful, and safe. Through this aspirational project, Dixon School aims to secure a sustainable future where every student is empowered to achieve their fullest potential. Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.
