| Member Duties : Safe Passages Summer Associate VISTAs will support structured summer programming for students in Oakland schools serving high-poverty communities. Associates will facilitate small group academic enrichment and project-based learning activities, provide mentoring and social-emotional support to students, and assist staff in implementing summer programs designed to prevent summer learning loss. Members will also support family outreach and communication regarding school resources and summer food distribution efforts, and assist with basic needs activities such as food distribution coordination and community resource referrals. Through these activities, Summer Associates help ensure students remain engaged in learning and connected to supportive services during the summer months.
