The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our AmeriCorps VISTA members help organizations in bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is a small city located on the southern shore of Lake Winnebago. Serving this lakeside town, Habitat for Humanity of Fond du Lac has built 35 homes in the area. The organization is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live and brings people together to build homes, community, and hope. Habitat for Humanity of Fond du Lac County has an open-door policy. All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to volunteer, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion.

Member Duties : As the Resource Development VISTA with Habitat for Humanity in Fond du Lac, you will help build capacity through volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and community outreach. Volunteers: After reviewing the organization’s history, you will research best practices and then create and implement a plan to increase volunteer recruitment and retention. Fundraising: Along with the executive director you will plan and launch a fundraising campaign which may include traditional appeals, events, and social media. Community Outreach: Connect with the community to build awareness and support for Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin. Create outreach strategies to support volunteer recruitment and fundraising efforts. BENEFITS INCLUDE: 30-hour work week, hybrid schedule (after the first month) and $200/month housing stipend. **Interviews are done on a rolling basis.
