2026 Seeds 4 Success Grow Program (High School Curriculum)
 
 
 
The VISTA member will build the capacity of the Seeds 4 Success by coordinating the expansion of the Dream Program from one to two evenings per week, supporting the expansion of the Grow Program during its first full school year of two-night programming, updating the Dream Program mentoring curriculum, and recruiting new volunteers to support expansion efforts. The ideal candidate for this VISTA role will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to assist in creating lesson plans and activities that support students’ academic and personal growth. They should be able to manage tasks, stay organized, and coordinate logistics for program expansion. Effective written and verbal communication skills are crucial for supporting volunteers, creating materials, and working with staff and community members. The candidate should be a team player and eager to learn, gather feedback, and contribute to program improvement. They will work with a multifaceted team and with children from various backgrounds, providing a supportive environment for all. Experience in volunteer management or educational settings is helpful but not required. A passion for supporting students from low-income households and a commitment to making a positive impact on their futures is essential.

Member Duties : Curriculum Development: Research best practices in mentoring, academic support, and college/career readiness. Define learning objectives and create a month-by-month curriculum framework. Develop lesson plans with activities, handouts, and discussion guides focused on academic and college readiness. Pilot lessons, gather feedback, and refine content for broader implementation. Program Expansion Coordination: Coordinate logistics for adding a second weekly program night, securing space, materials, and schedules. Observe sessions, gather feedback, and recommend improvements for consistent programming. Volunteer Engagement: Create outreach materials to recruit at least 15 new volunteer mentors/facilitators through schools, community groups, and online platforms. Assist in screening volunteers through applications, interviews, and background checks. Lead training to ensure volunteers are ready to support program goals and students effectively.
