26 Arizona Serve VISTA - Beacon Group Data & Impact
 
 
 
Beacon Group’s mission is creating opportunities for people with disabilities, many who are living below the poverty line. By providing employment opportunities and training for these individuals, Beacon helps to eliminate poverty in Pima County. The VISTA member will create capacity for this work to continue sustainability through the development of a Business Insights dashboard. These resources will ultimately be used by other staff better understand their impact on the community, allowing for streamlined communication and improved internal decision-making to create efficient programs that support individuals with disabilities in securing employment. Please note that applications are viewed on a rolling basis and are considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Member Duties : The VISTA will create a business insights tool so Beacon Group can easily access data about the organization's economic impact. The VISTA will begin by researching previous efforts for impact reporting, understanding pros and cons to past approaches. They will gather data from Beacon Group leadership on key points that could use greater data to support decision-making. The VISTA will develop methods for streamlined dissemination of information based on business analytics and determine strong opportunities for using this tool. Develop a compelling template for disseminating gathered business insights data. Develop a simple query and output that allow the user to quickly gather data. Integrate the tool into existing tech ecosystem (Microsoft) to minimize learning curves and training requirements.
