Summer Associate – Idaho Youth Ranch VISTA

Summer Associates serve in a structured, supportive environment where their work creates lasting impact. Rather than engaging in direct service, fundraising, or volunteer management, they focus on building tools, systems, and resources that strengthen Idaho Youth Ranch from the inside out—ensuring their work continues beyond the summer. Associates support cross-functional efforts across Advancement and operations, contributing to marketing systems, development infrastructure, volunteer program frameworks, and training resources. Projects balance flexibility with clear direction while aligning with AmeriCorps VISTA guidelines. A key focus is improving internal systems and workflows. Summer Associates help identify gaps and develop solutions such as templates, process maps, resource libraries, and tracking tools that increase efficiency and organization across teams. They also support volunteer and community engagement by developing onboarding materials, training guides, communication templates, and recruitment toolkits—creating a more consistent and scalable volunteer experience. Additionally, Associates contribute to resource development and marketing by assisting with research, organizing grant readiness materials, and developing messaging tools that strengthen outreach and sustainability. All work is capacity-building in nature. Summer Associates do not provide direct service, manage volunteers, or solicit donations. Instead, they create sustainable systems that expand Idaho Youth Ranch’s long-term impact. By strengthening infrastructure, increasing efficiency, and expanding community engagement, this role supports greater access to critical resources—helping reduce barriers, improve stability, and contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty. Through this experience, participants gain valuable skills while helping build a stronger foundation to serve youth and families across Idaho.
