2026 Summer Associate-MOST Program Mapping Project

As a VISTA Summer Associate, you'll lead a high-impact project to map the locations and key details of afterschool programs, summer opportunities, community schools, and mentoring programs serving K-12 young people across Maryland. This isn't just data entry — it's detective work, community research, and storytelling through data. Young people spend 80% of their lives outside the traditional school day — and what happens during that time matters enormously. Yet only 16% of young people in Maryland have access to afterschool programs, leaving countless students without the enrichment, support, and connection they need to thrive. That's where you come in. The map you build will become a living resource for parents, educators, and community members searching for critical support for the young people in their lives. Beyond connecting families to opportunity, your work will shine a spotlight on the gaps in program access — building a powerful case for expanding services in the communities that need them most. When complete, your map will be published on MOST's website and promoted to a wide audience of constituents across the state.
