Volunteer Coordinator Summer Associate
 
 
 
The Volunteer Coordinator will serve with Storytime Village, Inc. to support literacy programming by preparing, coordinating, and guiding volunteers who serve as literacy facilitators during programs such as LEAP Camp and Storytime in the Park. Volunteers assist with reading circles, storytelling, and small group activities. By supporting the preparation and coordination of these literacy facilitators, the Summer Associate contributes to increased student participation in literacy activities, improved academic engagement, and strengthened social-emotional skills.

Member Duties : - Prepare and support volunteers who serve as literacy facilitators during reading activities - Assist in training volunteers on how to support reading circles, storytelling, and student engagement strategies (teacher training) - Provide materials and guidance for volunteers to use during literacy instruction and activities - Coordinate volunteer schedules to ensure consistent support for literacy programming sessions - Support volunteers during program implementation to ensure students are actively engaged in reading activities - Monitor and support the quality of volunteer-led literacy interactions with students - Assist with literacy activities alongside volunteers when needed to reinforce student engagement - Track number of volunteers supporting literacy programming and number of students served (ED1) - Monitor student participation and engagement in literacy activities supported by volunteers (ED5)
