Eat Wyoming Development VISTA

The Casper Community Greenhouse Project (CCGP)/Eat Wyo has worked on garden projects all around Casper, from school greenhouses to community gardens to garden walls with an aim to connect all people and economic status with the land, food, water and tools that help sustain a healthy lifestyle. We work to develop an innovative space that produces fresh, healthy produce and serves as an attractive green space and educational center. CCGP collaborates with local producers to produce enough food to supply the community with fresh, healthy food while generating enough revenue to remain sustainable. Through our community network we provide an environment for the community to learn about nutrition, food, and the scientific process of production. CCGP aims to work hand in hand with educational institutions to develop a technical path for people seeking job skills in greenhouse operation and management.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will grow capacity relating to Eat Wyo’s anti-poverty efforts through creating tools, processes and templates relating to leveraging funds, refining data collection, and volunteer recruitment and retention. VISTA will spread the reach of Eat Wyo’s programs by developing marketing and outreach materials, identifying grant opportunities, and refining data collection processes to build stronger grant narratives and templates to be used by Eat Wyo staff. VISTA will also draft volunteer descriptions aimed at engaging and retaining volunteers as well as create training procedures to be implemented by Eat Wyo staff. Efforts to increase awareness, engagement, and data collection will create a sustainable path for Eat Wyo’s continued capacity growth.
