PHENND Fellows: School Partnerships, Health Institute Coordi

The Health Institute at Hardy (HIH) is a healthcare career readiness initiative designed to expand equitable access to high-quality career pathways for Philadelphia students. Supported by a $20 million investment through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Career and Technical Education Initiative, HIH connects education, industry, and community partners to prepare students for high-wage, high-demand healthcare careers. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), through its Office of Community Impact, serves as a lead partner, advancing health equity and economic mobility by providing students in grades 7–12 with hands-on career exposure, mentorship, and industry engagement across clinical, operations, and administrative healthcare pathways. HIH builds sustainable school–industry systems that strengthen workforce pipelines and create long-term opportunities for youth facing structural barriers.
