| Member Duties : The Salvation Army seeks to meet human needs without discrimination. Summer VISTA members will support free summer programming in vulnerable communities and assist with recovery from the May 2025 tornadoes and other disasters. Members will serve at three sites: the Ferguson Empowerment Center, Family Haven, and Salvation Army headquarters. Duties include supporting literacy, STEM, arts, and recreation programs; assisting staff with curriculum development and student enrichment; supervising field trips; and facilitating small-group learning. Members will also assist the Emergency Disaster Services department with data entry, community outreach, disaster response, mass feeding, sheltering, and distribution of hydration and cooling kits.
