M:STL- Summer Associate SHED STL
 
 
 
SHED partners with the School District of University City to promote summer learning aligned with career exploration. This includes a paid summer internship, for high school credit, that engages students in a project in the community with SHED, such as building a deck or repair work. SHED would like to expand its support of University City’s summer learning program by aligning academic programming with career exploration opportunities at all grade levels (approximately 400 students). This programming will address summer learning loss alongside career path exploration. Additionally, SHED would like to partner with the School District and University City on disaster response to families. Devastating flooding and other severe weather has impacted students and families. This partnership would create systemwide disaster response support.

Member Duties : The first four weeks of the associate’s time would be focused on career exploration as part of summer learning programs. The second four weeks of the associate’s time would be focused on disaster response planning.
