Youth Mental Health Corps Outreach and Development VISTA

This position joins Oregon Health Authority’s (OHA) statewide AmeriCorps VISTA team at OregonServes, Oregon's State Service Commission. OregonServes is housed within the Higher Education Coordinating Commission, a State of Oregon agency that works to expand access to education, workforce training, and career opportunities. OregonServes supports national service, volunteerism, and civic engagement programs that help address community needs while creating pathways to education, workforce development, and public service careers. This position will support Oregon's Youth Mental Health Corps, an initiative that helps address the youth mental health crisis while creating career pathways into behavioral health professions. Youth Mental Health Corps programs provide young adults with training, service experience, certifications, and education opportunities that can lead to careers in behavioral health. These pathways help increase access to economic opportunity, particularly for individuals from underserved communities, while strengthening the behavioral health workforce and expanding support services for youth. In addition to activities at your individual host site, OHA provides members with project orientation, training and professional development, 5 in-person team meetings per year, and support from VISTA team leaders and project director. Visit www.oregon.gov/oregonserves/ to learn more about OregonServes. Visit: healthoregon.org/vista for more details about the OHA VISTA project. Position offers are made on a rolling basis; early applications are strongly encouraged.
