Healthy Harvest Corps Summer- Youngstown

The Ohio Association of Foodbanks (OAF) represents Ohio's 12 Feeding America foodbanks and their 3,600 member hunger relief programs, serving food insecure Ohioans in all 88 counties. OAF will host 25 AmeriCorps members serving at 9 host sites throughout Ohio. Deploying AmeriCorps direct service members at local and regional hunger relief agencies will support a coordinated statewide effort to improve health by getting healthy food into the homes of food insecure Ohioans. Summer positions will focus on promoting fresh produce among youth populations. This position is located at Heart Reach Neighborhood Ministries. Heart Reach Neighborhood Ministries is a faith-based 501c3 organization that operates three community centers, two in Youngstown, Ohio and one in Campbell, Ohio. All are located in low income communities and offer emergency assistance, commodities distributions (food, clothing, school supplies, winter clothing for children, etc.), daily programming for children (after school, during school and summer), and teen leadership and workforce readiness training. We partner with numerous local churches and organizations to meet the needs of children.
