Healthy Harvest Corps Summer- Cleveland

The Ohio Association of Foodbanks (OAF) represents Ohio's 12 Feeding America foodbanks and their 3,600 member hunger relief programs, serving food insecure Ohioans in all 88 counties. OAF will host 25 AmeriCorps members serving at 9 host sites throughout Ohio. Deploying AmeriCorps direct service members at local and regional hunger relief agencies will support a coordinated statewide effort to improve health by getting healthy food into the homes of food insecure Ohioans. Summer positions will focus on promoting fresh produce among youth populations. This position is located at Food Strong a Cleveland based nonprofit organization advancing food justice in Northeast Ohio and beyond by building enduring local food systems from the ground up. Food Strong operates the Food Sovereignty School Program, which delivers hands on garden, nutrition, and food systems education in schools across the region. We are also transforming a three acre community farm into a permanent hub for food education, workforce development, volunteer engagement, and neighborhood connection. Through our Care A Van program, Food Strong brings fresh food, arts, wellness resources, and educational opportunities directly into community settings such as farmers markets and neighborhood events.
