Kalihi Valley Instructional Bike Exchange VISTA
 
 
 
The Kalihi Valley Instructional Bike Exchange is catered towards low-income children and youth ages 5-18, fostering safe spaces and mentorship. They include hands-on education on bicycle mechanics, urban gardening, life mentoring and civic engagement. The program teaches healthy living, cultivates stable relationships, enhances resilience, success in school and the workforce, and fosters long-term goals.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA will help the program improve internal communication systems for participant recruitment, assist in the development of a reporting system for participant and volunteer data required for KVIBE's various grants, and assist in the development of KVIBE's youth curriculum. The VISTA will also be invited to attend KKV's various internal trainings on community wellness and health.
