Career Services Coordinator - Richmond Promise
 
 
 
This role requires strong administrative and research skills and the ability to develop strategic plans from research insights. The position will work closely with the career services manager during an initial training phase followed by collaboration on developing and deploying deliverables. Launched in January 2016, the Richmond Promise is a community-wide college college success initiative to build a college graduating culture in Richmond, CA. The Richmond Promise is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with institutional partnerships with the City of Richmond, WCCUSD, Contra Costa College, University of California and California State University systems. Mission: We see a day when all children in Richmond have access to high quality education, excel from high school to higher education, attain a postsecondary degree or certification, thrive in the field of their choice, and become a leader of positive change in their community and the world. Goals: Increase the number of students, particularly who are low-income and first in their family to go to college, who: 1. Are exposed to college resources, role models, and experiences throughout K-16 2. Successfully transition to an accredited university/college directly from high school 3. Successfully transfer from community college to 4-year university 4. Complete an associates degree, bachelor degree, or career + technical education. This will include development and support of college transition programming, including College Success Workshops, developing a method of evaluating students’ needs and level of support needed (i.e. college success rubric), and the scaling of a of community-wide digital advising/mentoring initiative for Richmond Promise students.

Member Duties : Workshops Collaborate with the career services manager to develop career development workshop content for RP Leads and general career services workshops Research workshop topics based on interests of current Scholars and needs of RP Leads programming Review curriculum for RP Leads years 1 and 2, enhancing with additional interactive components in compliance with Richmond Promise style guide Employer Research Conduct research to identify employers, companies, and professionals open to serving as mentors and/or industry partners for site visits Compile and organize potential individual partners and organizational partners aligned with student career interests Develop and execute outbound communications strategy to connect Scholars with partners Source and post job opportunities in collaboration with the career services manager
