Craik-Patton House - Preserve WV AmeriCorps

Do you love history and sharing this passion with people of all ages and backgrounds? Step back in time with the Craik-Patton House, a stately, Greek-Revival 19th century historic house museum owned and operated by a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving historical, genealogical, cultural, literary or educational value. The organization encourages and supports research into and study of the history, genealogy and culture of the Kanawha Valley, the State of West Virginia and the United States of America, and the citizens thereof, thereby preserving the knowledge of such history, genealogy and culture. Visitors can tour the museum and grounds and hear compelling stories of the house’s early inhabitants. These inhabitants include James Craik, whose family’s strong connection to George Washington is discussed; as well as Colonel George Smith Patton, founder of the Kanawha Riflemen and grandfather of the famed World War II general.
