Expanding Hospice in Somerset County
 
 
 
Hospic Volunteers of Somerset County (HVOSC) is a small, highly collaborative non-profit organization that recruits, trains, and supports individuals interested in becoming Hospice Volunteers. Hospice Volunteers provide comfort and companionship to people with a life-limiting illness, in a home setting or a nursing home.

Member Duties : The member will work closely with the HVOSC Program Director and will be responsible for creating a vibrant volunteer program in rural areas of Somerset County. This individual will provide the day-to-day oversight of the volunteer program, including shared leadership with AmeriCorps and HVOSC to expand a volunteer program in rural Somerset County. Participate in AmeriCorps National Days of Service. Participate in an HVOSC Hospice Volunteer Training Program, recruit potential Hospice Volunteers, guide volunteer candidates through the HVOSC Volunteer Training Program. The member will ttend HVOSC events to promote volunteering, work in partnership with the Program Director, matching volunteers with clients using identified client needs and volunteer abilities, and providing open communication with both parties during the process. The member will manage volunteer assignments and record relevant data for the volunteer program.
