Community Recruitment & Intergenerational Engagement VISTA
 
 
 
This AmeriCorps member will strengthen intergenerational and culturally diverse volunteer pipelines that help youth succeed academically and socially while fostering meaningful connections across age and community lines.

Member Duties : Support outreach and recruitment efforts to engage men of color as mentors. Collaborate with AARP Experience Corps and Community School team to recruit, onboard, and support older adult volunteers serving as literacy tutors in local schools. Build relationships with community groups, fraternities, faith-based organizations, and cultural networks to expand volunteer reach. Represent both programs at community events, volunteer fairs, and local gatherings. Assist in hosting information sessions and training events for prospective volunteers. In partnership with marketing, create and distribute outreach materials that highlight the power of mentoring and intergenerational service. Support volunteers through the onboarding process, ensuring clear communication and a positive experience. Maintain volunteer records, assist with data tracking, and report outreach outcomes.
