Youthworks | Community Engagement and Outreach Member

YouthWorks is a compassionate, statewide nonprofit in North Dakota working to make sure every young person has a place to belong and be heard. Founded in 1986, we serve youth up to age 22 — including those who are homeless, runaway, trafficked, or facing court involvement — by providing crisis intervention, emergency shelter, and transitional housing. We also offer school-based programs (like Day Report), diversion for youth at risk of further justice system involvement, and anger-management classes for teens and parents. For young adults (18–24), we offer furnished transitional living with counseling, mentoring, life-skills training, and practical support like food, transportation, education, and employment help. Our anti-human trafficking program supports survivors with individualized case management, counseling, and safe housing. We also run a school suspension program for students, and culturally grounded mentorship and connection through our Youth Cultural Achievement Project, especially for Native American youth. YouthWorks also maintains a 24/7 street-outreach and drop-in center offering food, clothes, hygiene items, crisis help, and referrals to services. Across our work, we use a Positive Youth Development philosophy — meeting young people where they are.
