26-27 Literacy AmeriCorps Palm Beach County

The Literacy AmeriCorps Program is a community-based national service initiative dedicated to improving literacy outcomes for children, youth, and adults across Palm Beach County. AmeriCorps members serve in schools, libraries, and community-based organizations, providing one-on-one and small-group tutoring, academic support, and literacy enrichment to individuals with the greatest need. Members support early childhood literacy, K–12 reading intervention, adult education, and ESOL services, helping learners build foundational reading, writing, and comprehension skills essential for academic success, workforce readiness, and lifelong learning. In addition to direct service, members assist with family literacy initiatives, community engagement events, and outreach efforts that promote access to educational resources. Through structured training, professional development, and hands-on service experience, AmeriCorps members gain valuable skills in education, leadership, and community engagement while fostering a commitment to service. The program strengthens community partnerships, advances educational equity, and empowers individuals and families to achieve long-term success through literacy.
