PCRG Collaborative Development Housing & Community Developme

Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG) is a community development organization fostering the revitalization of underserved neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Since 1988 as a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation, PCRG has become a nationally recognized leader in equitable lending and access to credit. PCRG empowers community development organizations in the region, providing resources like the VISTA program, which enhances organizational capacity and cultivates leadership. The program has been successful in advancing the careers of VISTA members, who are given opportunities for professional development throughout the year. About 70% of VISTAs have gone on to positions at community non-profits, while the other 30% have pursued higher education, often supported by the end-of-service education award. In this position, you will help PCRG with a new program, Collaborative Development, focused on developing affordable homeownership. You will work out of PCRG’s offices in downtown Pittsburgh. Duties will focus on surveying vacant housing and creating a database for future projects. You will have the opportunity to enhance your development skills by preparing a review of funding opportunities, and assisting with developing proposals, budgets, and narratives for the project and marketing plan. Including researching best practices for developing new housing units The VISTA will be supervised by PCRG’s executive director and learn nonprofit community and real estate development skills while getting to know the communities of Pittsburgh. Relevant skills needed include research and writing, website management and communications, including developing an organizational social media strategy. Self-motivated, curious, and passionate people are encouraged to apply. This position is suited for any age group. A candidate with a college degree is more likely to be more successful; however, do not hesitate to apply if you feel your experience, interests and skills would be a good match.
